The College is experiencing growth in enrollments which currently stands at approx. 1300 students and who all attend the adjacent girls’ and boys’ campuses in East St Kilda, at the heart of the Melbourne Jewish community. There are 300+ educator staff and administrators.
The Head of School is ultimately responsible for strategic management of the school. The Head of School is the most senior executive, functioning as the Chief Education Officer. Under the oversight and governance of the Board of Directors the Head of School is responsible for the overall strategy and implementation of the educational and operational endeavor across the Creche, Early Learning Centres, both Elementary schools and both High schools. The core responsibility of the role is to manage and deliver quality Jewish and General education in an environment that enriches relationships with staff, students, their parents and the wider community. The Head of School must ensure the well being of all students, provide crucial people leadership, fundamental risk management and stewardship of the strategy and fiscal viability of the schools.They must also ensure that the Jewish and Chabad ethos permeates school climate.
The ideal Head of School will be an outstanding educator with demonstrated leadership experience in a large school setting. The Head of School should have experience in learning and teaching, Crèche to Year 12 pedagogy, team leadership and management, student and parent engagement, marketing, facilities management, budgeting and finance. They should have personal values aligned with the values of the school and this will be reflected in their academic and religious qualifications.
